New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced a full investigation into a shocking incident of antisemitism at Hillcrest High School in Queens.

Students at the school reportedly rioted after learning that a teacher had attended a pro-Israel rally.

The incident, which occurred on Monday, forced the school to shut down for two hours and left the teacher hiding inside a locked office.

Mayor Adams condemned the act of antisemitism as a 'vile show' driven by ignorance-fueled hatred.

He emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated in any school or in the city as a whole.

'We are better than this,' Adams said in a statement.

The teacher in question, who remains anonymous, has been part of the city's school system for 23 years and has been teaching at Hillcrest for seven years.
